Gavin Newsom accuses GOP governors of kidnapping after busing illegal immigrants to blue cities

California Governor Gavin Newsom wrote the Department of Justice to encourage them to investigate Republican governors who have been bussing illegal immigrants to sanctuary cities as possible being guilty of kidnapping.

Fox News reports that Newsom wrote, "I urge US DOJ to investigate whether the alleged fraudulent inducement would support charges of kidnapping under relevant state laws."

Newsome wrote the letter directly to Attorney General Merrick Garland and said, "Several of the individuals who were transported to Martha’s Vineyard have alleged that a recruiter induced them to accept the offer of travel based on false representations that they would be transported to Boston and would receive expedited access to work authorization."

On Wednesday, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis joined a growing number of state leaders, such as Texas Governor Greg Abbott, who have been sending illegal immigrants to "sanctuary destinations" across the country. The Florida mayor sent two planes full of illegal migrants to Martha’s Vineyard in Massachusetts, a state that has supported the Biden administration’s open-border policies.
