The House gathered on Tuesday night to reconsider last week's failed motion to impeach Biden's DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas, and they did so, with a vote of 214 in favor to 213 against. Rep. Steve Scalise was in the House this week and was able to cast his vote in favor of impeachment.
It is unlikely that the Democrat controlled Senate will take up the vote.
This week's vote comes after a vote failed to pass the House last week, but the GOP were able to leave it open for a motion to reconsider, which was held on Tuesday right before the vote to impeach. Mayorkas' impeachment marks the first time a cabinet member has been impeached in 150 years.
House Republicans have been attempting to impeach Mayorkas for months, with Georgia Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene leading the charge to get him out for "high crimes and misdemeanors."
