Florida’s AdventHealth Suspends Employee COVID-19 Shot Mandate for 83,000 Employees

AdventHealth says it will no longer require its 83,000 employees to get vaccinated, Fox News reported.

The announcement by the hospital system suspending all forced COVID shots was made in a memo sent out to employees, who will still be required to report whether their personal decision on the matter.

“Due to recent decisions by the federal courts to block the CMS vaccine mandate, we are suspending the vaccination requirements prescribed by this mandate. We will continue to monitor the ongoing litigation regarding the federal law,” AdventHealth spokesperson Jeff Grainger told the Orlando Sentinel.

The Office of Florida Governor Ron DeSantis has also sent out a statement in response to AdventHealth’s decision, stating “We welcome AdventHealth’s decision to comply with state law to protect Floridians’ jobs and to ensure our state’s healthcare system can continue functioning smoothly.”
